Kahoot!!
One of my favorite ways to do a review is to play a kahoot.it game. This is a website where you can create a free quiz or review. Students sign in with the game pin. Students have to use their own devices to answer questions.
It is really fun for the students, because there is a timer that counts down and plays music. It feels kind of like a jeopardy game. When the time is up or everyone has answered, their device tells them if they got the answer correct or not.
As a teacher, this is a great formative assessment. It keeps the data from each student and you can download it or print it. It tells you which questions they missed and which questions they did not have enough time to answer.

This is a great idea! I have been wanting to incorporate something like this into my class. Do you ever run into an issue with a student not having a phone to use?
ReplyDeleteI have a classroom set of iPads so I don't run into that problem. Students can use any device to get on the site. It can be a phone, iPad, or laptop all at the same time.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a terrific resource! Thank you so much for sharing. I think this would be great for my closure activity I do every class.
ReplyDeleteOne question: How intuitive is this for students? My kids are not the best with technology so I would love it if they cold pick this up quickly.
I use it often and it's super easy for kids to use and figure out. TRY IT! I'll bet you won't regret it!
DeleteThat's one thing that is so great about it. It's super easy!
DeleteMy students loved Kahoot! We do it on BYOD days.
ReplyDeleteMy students love it, too. It is a good way to switch lessons up, and I love how it gives you feedback on each student.
DeleteWhat a great resource! I'll have to look into this during testing time.
ReplyDeleteYes. It's great as a review or even as practice. I have used it in small groups for students to work on grammar.
DeleteKahoot! is one of my very favorite things, and my students love it just as much!
ReplyDeleteIt is also pretty easy to make which is a bonus for the teacher!
DeleteI will definitely keep this in mind when the inevitable complaints about math come this year... :-)
ReplyDeleteIt makes it so easy to do a math review. Even the reluctant math students get excited to do a Kahoot.
DeleteMy 7th grade students last year loved using Kahoot. I also participated in an after school program and the students were always wanting to play on Kahoot when they had all of their homework done.
