About Me

Hello! I am Amy Mitchell.  I am currently a second grade teacher in Gillette, Wyoming.  I work with two amazing other teachers on my second grade team.  Each of us are strong in different areas.  One is stronger in language arts, the other in math, and I am strong in science and technology. We work together closely to tailor out instruction to meet the changing needs of our students.

I attended Chadron State College for my undergraduate studies.  I graduated in December 2012 with a degree in elementary education and vocal music.  I then started my teaching career the next August as a second grade teacher.  I am currently working on my Masters of Education in Technology through Boise State University. I anticipate completing my degree in 2017.

I am new to blogging, but I anticipate it being very fun and insightful.  I am interested in sharing strategies to implement technology into the primary classroom.  I want students to have lessons that allow them to discover ways to share their understanding by creating and doing.  I want to get away from traditional assessments and allow students to dive deeper into content.

If you would like to find out more about me or contact me, feel free to email me at: amymitchell136@u.boisestate.edu.
